Don't mess with me Look

Oh I want to post a mean picture of me. I have been told many times that I can give dirty looks. Here is one that Ryan took last night. I think it is funny that people think I'm mean from my looks. I'm nice I swear.

Bayou last night 3-24-06

Last night we picked up Julie and Alex to go see a Jazz band at the Bayou. Alex is a fan and loves jazz music. So we park and we see our BFFs (Vicki and Jeff). Vicki and Jeff were leaving because the wait at the Bayou was 2 hours long! Julie and Alex stayed at the Bayou while Ryan and I went to Squatters to get food and only wait 15 minutes for a table.

I highly recommend the Turkey burger at Squatters...I also smoother it with the Squatters mustard...it is so good. Jeff had his buddies from AZ with him...apparently they had gone snowboarding during the day. Jeff looks a little red in this pic...sunburned.

Ryan and I depart from our BFFs and we head back to the Bayou. We had front seats for the band. It was cool. Next thing you know... I see little Dave Tada. That kid is back in town from LA. Dave Tada is my photographer/dj friend who we use to work with at Wasatch CD. Dave has taken the best pics of me ever. Anyway...we hung with him and I forgot to take a pic of him. We are suppose to hang tonight...so i will get a pic then.

Julie and I were tired...can you tell?

As Ryan and Alex enjoyed the vibe at the BAYOU.

Buddy's BDAY was on 3-20-06

Buddy turned 4 years old (so I guess he is now 28 dog years). He is the best twenty something kid to live with. He never wants money for stuff and he never talks back to me.

He and his sister are content with the food, shelter and rubs & loves their parents give them. I couldn't ask for anything better from these wonderful children. Love you Buddy and Dolly. We get our dogs a doggie pizza for each bday...I think they come to expect it now after four years. Here is a pic from Monday right before we gave buddy his "Birthday Pizza" which we get at Ma's & Paw's Doggie Bakery:

Doctor Park City

About two weeks ago, Rose and I were talking and I decided to google our favorite doctor ever...Dr. Koleyni. I found her working at the Park City Clinic. We travelled up to Park City just to see her today.

We made a short stop at the outlets. I was proud of myself I didn't buy a single thing there.
Then well I sat in the waiting room...I saw tons of people coming in for injuries done on the slopes. I felt out of place...I didn't have ski pants on like everyone in the waiting room.

BTW, I had my camera but I forgot to take pics...here is pic of pretty friend Rose...

So I'm thinking of trying out ISAGENIX because of a talk Rose and I had today...I want to try this to get healthy again and lose some weight. I'm always so tired these days...I don't think I should be feeling like this at 32.

We went to Got Beauty after our doctor's appointments. Rose and I are getting our hair colored on Sunday by the best hairdresser - Shelley. I can't wait.

wedding + twin peaks

Wow...last night was the most eccentric lds wedding reception I have ever been to. Julie and Alex were married on St. Patrick's day in the SLC Temple. Ryan and I were invited to attend their sit down dinner reception at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.

We arrived to the reception a little after 7pm. It was packed and there were only four seats left right at the table by the entrance. I got to sit with Julie's old BYU roommate- Sara who I also knew back in the day, it was good to see her. We chatted about Devin of course...Sara's old boyfriend at the Y. Sara is now married & 6 months pregnant living in Wisconsin. Here is a pic of Sara and Julie's BYU roommates I didn't know:

Julie instructed everyone via email earlier this week to "take pictures of people at your table with the disposible camera." Ryan followed instructions and took lots of pics.

The theme of the wedding was "Twin Peaks". Julie had told me via email that she had a forest, woodsy themed wedding. She said that it was because of Twin Peaks...and that most people would probably not get it. (This girl loves David Lynch and if you ask her...she will tell you about the time she ran after David at Sundance with her tap shoes and how she met and danced with the midget from Twin Peaks at a goth club in LA.) Her centerpieces all had roses and a deer. I got to take home a deer to remember Julie's big day.

Jared Gold, famous fashion designer, and also Julie's roommate made her dress and the bridesmaids' dresses. (BTW, Jared is going to be a guest designer on American's top model show this coming wednesday.) Jared and his co designer friend Matty created the "DEER" design that was put on the bottom of the dresses.

This is Julie and her friend... you can see her dress better in this pic.

After everyone was invited to get their food. Julie & Alex and their families took center stage. Julie started off talking about how single she was for years and how she finally met Alex. Her siblings and his siblings were also asked to say a few words.

Anyway, Ryan went crazy with the video clips. He caught the bit where Julie explain her Theme and how she met Alex. But unfortunately the video clips are HUGE to download!! I need to figure out a way of making it smaller and posting it somewhere so you can see it.

For the entertainment, Julie's dad played "ragtime" piano music. Now I know where Julie gets her quirkyness / eccentricity...she tapdances to hiphop and her dad plays ragtime music at all his children's receptions. Alex also joined in on a song with his guitar and both father and new son in law jammed in front of all their guests.

I tried taking a picture of the bride and the groom...but somehow julie's father in law got in it too.

I got to see and chat with a long time friend, Heidi.
Heidi did my makeup for my wedding 6 years ago. She now lives in LA and is also expecting her first baby. Heidi is married to Rus who I also know from the Y. Heidi was also impressed with Ryan's hair. She told him that he looked like Nick Cave.

At the end of the night, Alex came over and we chatted. Ryan caught this shot....I really like Alex. He has a great DRYsense of humor. I think Alex likes Ryan and I too...he happily waved at us when we first came to his reception.

Overall, I thought Julie and Alex both looked very happy. Julie looked great in her dress and I'm glad that she was happy with Jared's design. I wish Alex and Julie the best. I believe she said that were just going down to southern Utah for their honeymoon. Thank you Julie for inviting us to share in your joy. I will for sure never forget it.

Yesterday St. Patty's Day

I was so tired last night I didn't get a chance to do my blog. This is a day late.

So last night, Ryan and I celebrated St. Patty's with Vicki and Jeff. Our plans included dinner and getting Vicki drunk...but that didn't happen. We went to brookside grill. I love their kabobs. After dinner we gathered at our house and ryan played bartender and we all laughed and talked for a few hours.

Vicki is a dear friend who I met when I first moved to SLC back in 99-00. I have to say that it is so wonderful to see her so so happy with Jeff. Jeff kills me. The funniest guy ever. And I think he gets me too, I mean he laughs when I say crazy direct stuff when most people usually get offended or don't know how to react. They are a great couple and I'm glad we are BFFs.

I'm off to get ready for my friend- Julie, the hiphop tapdancer's wedding reception!!! I will post more pics soon.

worst day in years

How to describe my worst day in years:

  • Let's start with me having a sour stomach, the runs, aches and pains all over my body, major headache and pressure behind my eyes for the last three days. I think I had the flu or some nasty bug someone at work gave me.
  • Today there was another HUGE snowstorm. It took Ryan and I about 45 minutes to get downtown from sugarhouse.
  • Since I was out yesterday from work, I had lots to catch up on and then it was my busiest day of the month for my accounts. Also please note we have auditors in my office and they are just a few feet away from my cube and I have added work because of them.
  • I also spent part of my afternoon reading a not so nice email and writing a not so nice email back to a close friend. I can just be a bitch sometimes I guess. I wish I could just let things go.
  • Here is where it gets good. Ryan usually picks me up after 5ish. Today I didn't stand outside of my building because I'm sick and it is cold outside. So I'm standing there inside my building and I heard a crash coming from 300 south. I didn't think much of it. But then I wondered ....Ryan probably can't turn on the street because of the wreck. So I open the door and I see Ryan outside of our car holding the hubcap. I walk over and these two guys in a crappy old white car drive away. Ryan got hit on the passenger side wheel by a speeding car as he turned left from 3rd south. I get the story from Ryan later that the guy got out of his car and said "hey that was your fault...and you are going to get a ticket for it." Anyway I couldn't tell how bad the damage was until I tried to open the passenger side door and it was stuck. So I got in the back seat and Ryan turned the car on and we could barely drive it. The front axle is bent. The impact was harder than ryan thought.
  • We called our insurance. It takes about an hour to get the car towed to the body shop. Ryan and I stay behind at my office to try to call for a rental car. Thank goodness that Ryan just changed our insurance company and we can get a car rental when we get in wrecks. Ryan and I start calling rental places...sold out...sold out...sold out. Everywhere in the valley was SOLD OUT. BTW...the college basketball tourament is in town. Finally I called Discount Rental and they have a "95 Chevy".
  • I called a few friends to see who could take us to this car rental place. Mary is the only one that answers and she still in town not at home in Davis County. So we get to the street where this rental place is and we can't find it. We turn around and see that there is an alley way with a store with its lights on. Get this...this is the place where the airport rental places send people who don't have a credit card...people with cash deposits and debit cards. We have no choice. The big Polynesian guy who helps us doesn't even ask about our insurance coverage and he doesn't tell us anything about the gas. But he did ask us if we wanted the white or red car. I said white. We get outside and it is a "80s Pontiac".
  • Ryan and I laughed the whole way home...what else could you do?
  • We get home around 8pm...And there is a nice piece of wet buddy poop on the hardwood. Ryan just laughed again. I said "at least it wasn't on the rug honey".
  • It's 11pm and I can't sleep and guess what...my stomach is still sour.

I will be so glad when this day is over.

I rushed home after hitting both trolley square and the gateway ...and ryan and i then headed to dinner at my mom's and sister's place.
William the cat also lives there...He is such a sweetheart.

My mom prepared a huge turkey dinner...does everyone's mom cook these huge dinners still for them? it was good food. Daisy (mom) loves taking pics...like me.

I can track people

Holy shit. I love that I just added a site meter on my blog and I can track people viewing my page. How fun is that? I'm excited. Sweet.
I'm going shopping with my friend brit right now.
I will be back with a post on her beautiful new car and hopefully a pic of her.

Old man winter

I'm so sick of the cold weather. I woke up this morning to snow again. I need the sun and the warmth from it. Snow is pretty but I want to see flowers and green grass again. This cold makes me depressed. Here is a pic of SLC looking white and cold.

Cloud 9 Restaurant

Tonight for dinner we went to Cloud 9, a moroccan restaurant on 9th and 9th. It was good but pricey and super small portions. It was a small bon voyage dinner for Meg. So sad for us all. Here is a cute pic of the three coolest people (Doug, Meg & Mary) next to me and ryan of course. It is only a week but we will miss her.

buddy and his ball

I swear my little dog loves his ball. Everyday we get home from work he runs and gets it and does the happy dance with the ball in his mouth. I wonder if that little guy plays with that orange ball all day long while i'm at work. I can just tell him..."where's your ball?" and buddy runs and finds it.

and the best thing about it...he nevers forgets where he left it. That's my smart little pup.

Cool I have a blog!

I'm so excited that I finally created a blog.
To start it off i'm going to post a super cute pic of me and ryry.

Btw, I just got back from starbucks. Megan called me at work around 5pm and she wanted to hang out before she leaves for her european orchestra trip. I'm going to miss having her around for a week. I can't even call her on her cellphone. But I'm sure I am not going to miss her as much as Dougie. I swear those two are falling for each other. Ry and I are responsible for that set up.

Here is a pic of Me and Megan from two saturdays ago at Eggs and the City.
