This xmas I made a shit load of cookies for work people...I have never made that many cookies in my life. Ryan and I baked all day on sunday. I found cute cookie bags...of all places...KMART.
Everyone at work loved the presentation and the cookies.

I was a good girl this year and my christmas gift came early this year via UPS to my office today. It is my first TCO present from my wonderful hubby!

Good Bye Jetta

Today was an eventful day. We sold our first car we bought as a couple almost seven years ago. While cleaning it out this saturday Ryan found the original registration in the glove box. It was dated 12-18-1999 the day we got it.
The buyer was a cute asian girl who is a biochemistry student at the U of U. She and her two friends came over on Saturday to test drive and today they had scheduled a mechanic check. It passed the check and Ryan was paid for the purchase. I didn't get to see it go off with it's new owner...kind of sad for me. We had good memories in that little car. Dolly and Buddy loved getting into it cause it was low to the ground. I will miss the switchblade keys and the new stereo we put in it.
So we are down to one car again. Weird. But this time around we live very close to Ryan's work and he can walk to and from if he wants. The FJ is still another four weeks out at least. What a bummer. Apparently the silver ones are in SUPER high demand and Toyota makes their cars in batches and apparently they havent been making any of the silver ones for a while.

Good bye Jetta...you were a good car to us.

old friend at the Y

Because of Myspace, friendster, ldslinkup...I have been able to catch up with lots of people from my past. I love seeing what people are up to now. I guess I'm just damn nosy and I enjoy reading about people. Anyway...I recently found a friend on myspace. Rob now has two kids at least...has a law degree and got an MBA. Crazy and Amazing. Talk about getting alot of shit done in the past ten years. He emailed me last week saying he wanted me to check out his blog. I'm even more impressed with this guy. His blog is about his own personal experience with self examining his mormon beliefs. It is so refreshing for me to read his blog. Too many times do I come across SUPER cheesy and wholesome blogs from people I use to know at the BYU. This guy is so honest to himself that it inspires me. Here is a shout out to my disco dancing college buddy ROB...you RULE dude.

it's been so long

I really suck at blogging. Oh well.
So I'm at work right now ...bored out of my mind. I think I'm going to make an effort and try to catch everyone up on what Ry and I have been up to the last couple of months.

One exciting thing that happened a few weeks ago...Ryan ordered a new car too! We were told it takes 6-8 weeks. He should have it by christmas. Here is a picture of it...

I'm a bad blogger.

In case you were wondering what I have been up to...here is a brief summary with pictures of course:

1. I'm addicted to watching Project Runway on BRAVO. Ryan and I loved Malan but he got kicked off a few weeks ago. My current favorite has to be the blond chick...Alison. I hate Angela and her ugly ass skirts.
2. I like to take pics of our doggies when I give them cool hair dos....here is buddy as pebbles flintstone...
3. I got a new small kitchen appliance...a panini press...i love sourdough bread...fresh mozzarella,basil and tomato-fresh from the garden...
4. I drive myself everyday to work now...it's hard in the morning cause i was use to napping when ryan use to drop me off...here is a pic of me leaving for work one morning...it is such a pimped out ride...
5. The same weekend that we got my car...an old college buddy came into town from Missouri. Matthew and his wife Tina ate lunch with us at Cafe Rio. Here is a pic of all four of us outside of my house.
6. My summer has been spent picking lots of cuccumbers, peppers, summer squash, roma-cherry-early girl tomatos from our veggie garden. We also have a plum and apple tree in the back yard. Buddy and dolly go out every night and bring in a branch with a fruit on it.
7. I has been so freakin hot in Utah the past few weeks...mostly high 90s and 100s. so uncomfortable... Anyway, last weekend ryan and I were in our drive way washing our VW when our neighbor comes out shirtless...we couldn't help but take a picture of him...kind of scary but funny at the same time. (btw, check out his sweet ride and his great landscaping skills-not watering his lawn EVER)

It is here...I cant sleep and it is 5am

I never thought I would get my car but it really did happen. I ordered it on March 30 and it has been the longest 14 weeks I have ever waited for a purchase!

It arrived sometime this week. I just happened to email the sales guy on thrusday evening about the status and he emailed me back today saying that "great timing on your email...you were on my call list...your car is in."

I want to do a recap.
-I had a weird day...first someone I work with is having a hard time in their personal life. I really like this person because they are good people....people like that don't deserve to have such unhappy moments. I worry about my friends during their hard times.
-Second I have been currently looking for another job. Plain and simple...I need more of a challenge (I'm bored with my job) and I need more money. Money makes the world turn round. And I'm sick of not progressing in my department...I have hit a wall. Anyway, I applied for a job a few days ago...I thought I had it...I had the experience ...maybe too much experience...I had good references within the bank who highly recommend me...but I got a call in the afternoon which at first started off as a interview then I was told "you are very very close second" and if it wasn't for someone in "our world" who also applied (who knows the systems we use) and who is our first choice...you would have the job. I was told that the job was not offered yet to the first choice but that they were "negotiating". Whatever that means. I'm hoping the negotiating doesn't work out. Anyway, I'm suppose to have a follow up call on Monday letting me know if things will work out for "choice number one" or for me.
-Third I'm riding TRAX at 4pm because i'm going home early to feed the pups, let them out to go potty and straighten things around in case our friend Matthew comes over. We haven't seen Matthew in about four years I think. He is married and made it out to utah on a road trip with his wife and her three siblings. Anyway on that ride, I read my email about my car.
-Fourth, Matthew ends up cancelling dinner which works out because i'm at the car dealership around 5:30pm. I get financed and fill out the paperwork, as I did that the car was parked right outside the office I was sitting at...so I was looking at it the whole time. MY new BABY. My first baby...I have never really owned my own car.














When I first looked at the car ...it had "ONE" Mile on it. No SHIT...one mile. Then it was taken away to get washed and gased up. When I drove it off the lot it had "TWO" miles.








As a New Yorker, I didn't drive ...hardly ever. I got my driver's license when I was 18 my freshman year at BYU. Since I have been married, Ryan and I have only had one car...the Jetta...she has been a great little car for the past seven years...but I hardly drove her. Ryan has told me that this is my car...and that he will hardly drive it. I'm a little nervous about it...cause it is so new and beautiful. I know that I will be careful ...I just fear other people and their driving skills.
I guess this was an eventful day. Not sure what I'm going to name her yet ( I have to name her)...maybe "la espera" meaning "the wait" or maybe "catorce" for "fourteen".

vacation to the northwest

Ryan and I love the northwest. The temperature is perfect right now. Not too hot ...around 70.
We just got back yesterday from a week in Washington. We spent a few days in Ocean Shores, Washington and a few days in Seattle.

Ocean Shores was beautiful but there was nothing to really do and no where good to eat. We spent our days walking the beach looking for seashells and sand dollars. This is the first pic we took of us our first night on the beach...it was very breezy.

We saw lots of wild life in Ocean shores. Here is a pic of pelicans we saw looking for fish on the beach and the next pic is of deer on the road. We had to be super careful driving through this town...there were deer everywhere.
Our time in Ocean Shores was very very relaxing and we spent lots of time in the pool and the hot tub. We stayed at our timeshare resort right on the beach. Here is a pic of me walking out to the beach from our resort.














On the drive to Ocean Shores from Seattle we drove through Olympia which is the capital of Washington and also the home of two really cool record labels....Kill Rock Stars and K records. So Ry and I stopped in Olympia to try to find cool cd shops but we found nothing. Downtown Olympia kind of reminded us of Provo/Orem, Utah. How sad is that.

One cool thing I found out about Olympia is that there is a road named Sleater-Kinney...where I think one of my favorite all girls band "Sleater Kinney" took their name from. Too bad Sleater Kinney toured as the opening band for Pearl Jam a few years back. It kind of ruined Sleater Kinney for me for a while.







We also drove through Aberdeen the birth place of Kurt Cobain. The entrance to the town has a sign with a tribute to Cobain.








In Seattle, we did lots of shopping and lots of walking. We also stayed at our timeshare condo which use to be a historic downtown hotel named the Camlin. First thing we did when we got to town....we had to go to the best Coffee house in Seattle...Espresso Vivice. OMG...those are the best latte's in the world. We had to go to our favorite restaurant in Seattle twice...a little cuban restaurant called Paseo which is located in Fremont. I had the best Cuban sandwich in my life there. If I lived in Seattle, we would go there at least once a week.

Our first night in Seattle we met up with my Beautiful artist friend Lisa and I got to finally see her goth warehouse loft. It was amazing. We met Lisa two years ago back stage at the Vancouver, BC and Seattle, WA Einturzende Neubauten concerts. Lisa and I tell people that we bonded because we got to met Blixa Blargeld those two nights together.Then Lisa took us to an excellent little restaurant called Bleu located in Capital Hill.

While at Bleu, Ryan saw an old acquaintance from ten years ago who he acted in a movie with. His name is Shane and it is a crazy small world to see people from your past on a street in Seattle randomly.

The next day Ryan and I got up bright and early and we rode on a Harbor Cruise. I know it is dorky but I love seeing the skyline of Seattle and being on a boat. The water was very calm that morning and so it was an enjoyable ride. Here is a pic of me and ryan on the boat:














We also got to walk through the Washington Park Arboretum and the Japanese Garden. We spent a few hours at the gardens and it was so beautiful and peaceful. I got to feed the Koi in the pond and some really annoying ducks. I love how green Washington is. Here are two pics of me and ryan in the Japanese garden:


















Later that night I got to see to my college buddy Christian. She is still one of the nicest people I know. We went to some outdoor mall with her by the U (to get some of my shopping errands out of the way) and then we took her to the Cuban restaurant Paseo. She was so impressed that visitors were taking her to a hip and delicious restaurant. I can't believe I forgot to take a pic of Christian. I thought I would see her again but her busy work schedule did not permit it. I'm just glad that we got to hang out with her that night till super late...we ended up chatting for a few hours in our condo living room.

While in Seattle I had to hit the Lush Store in Bellevue and Sephora because I'm a makeup and fragrance fan. We stopped by and visited an old co worker of mine who now works for Wells in Bellevue. That was fun to see a familiar face in Washington.

Our last night in Seattle we got to met some beautiful wonderful people. We had dinner with Lisa and her new HOT motorcycle bf named Shannon. We went to Meskel Ethiopian restaurant and I got to have my Honey Wine. Poor Shannon had to go through Diana's "get to know you 20 questions" and nothing is off limits. Let's just say that he passed with flying colors. Believe it or not but Shannon has some Utah Mormon background....that was super crazy. And for some weird reason I feel that I bonded with him a little more because of that.














After dinner we stopped by Lisa's loft to pick up her friend Cait. That girl is amazing. She knew about great music and had great style plus she is also a painter and her stuff blows me away...very talented. Check out her art at www.caitwillis.com

Our last day in Seattle, before our flight Ryan and I went to Pike's market to get fish for my mom and sis. Wow those halibut steaks were so good on the grill. We also rushed to Fremont to eat at Paseo...and to go cd shopping at Sonic Boom. By accident I got to see the troll under the Fremont Bridge. I didn't get out of the car because we had a flight to catch but I noticed that the crowd next to the Troll were there for some kind of acting thing. And let's just say that it looked dorky.

SEATTLE is a fun place to visit. We have lots of dear friends there. And everytime we go we get mistaken as locals...how cool is that.

Party Time...for wells fargo team members

Tonight was a busy night for ry and I.
We had two invites for parties.

First party was for Fernando's bday party at Silvia's sister's house somewhere around 4500 south and way way east above wasatch blvd. I got to met Silvia's baby girl..the princess Lexie. Lexie is the one on the right.

Second party we went to was the CTS wells fargo karaoke party at Arge's house. I just had to bring my carmera...how could I not...I love having pics of fun events.
When we arrived the following team members were there...Chris B., Tracy, Necia, Megan, Deann, Rebecca, and then a few minutes after Laurie and Tiffany showed up. Dianne showed up right before we left so I was unable to take a pic of her. Maybe next time.

Chris is going to kill me for putting a pic on the web...but I hope she eventually gets over it. Her hand is very photogenic. I didn't know she was such a hard drinker. The whole night I only saw Chris holding a Mike's Hard Lemonade.

heatstroke after the parade

I woke up this morning at 6:30am.

The parade was super fun except for that fact that I had to get my ass up so early. So I figure I was on my feet from 7am till about noon. It was hot today in SLC. The sun was so powerful too. I never sweat...but I was sweating and very very hot. The high today was 89.

Anyway...I didn't drink hardly any water. Heat and no water....equals feeling like crap.
So after the parade we went over to the festival...it was crowded (way too many people)...we were tired, hot and not feeling so good. We went and sat by the main stage...Salsa Brava was playing great salsa music. I think we were at the festival 15 to 30 minutes top. I didn't see one person I knew.

Then Ryan and I walked outside of the festival and got lunch at sizzlers. My sweet Ryan walked all the way back to our car in the heat after lunch and got our car.

So I MISSED all of the festival. I think the festival is the best part of Pride. And I was so tired from decorating and walking the parade that I missed all MY FRIENDS.

Next year I think I'm skipping the parade. And just hanging at the festival.

GAY for a Day

Listen up people in SLC!

Tomorrow is Pride Utah. Come out and support your gayness or your gay friends. Ryan and I will be gay for a day.

Wells Fargo is a big support of the parade and of the festival...and one of the only two banks in the state to support this fun event!

Anyway - Ryan and I will be in downtown SLC behind the Wells Fargo Center at 7am. We will be decorating the Wells Float. The parade doesn't start til 10am but you must be in the float line by 9am. If you guys want to come with us. Please let me know ASAP.

Updates

Dear Friends,

Here are some updates that people have been requesting of me:

1. Detox Flush- I lasted a week. I'm still planning on doing another detox soon.
2. My Car - Stop asking me about it already...I ordered it the last week of March...the dealer said that it takes at least 8 weeks to 15 weeks max. Do the math. I still have some time to wait for it. Remember people, it is being made in Japan and then it will be shipped on a boat over here to America.
3. Ryan's guitar- he finally got it on Sunday. I love it. It looks so good on him. He already had the rock and roll look...so it just looks natural.

Strut your mutt

On May 20th, Ryan and I took our doggies to Strut Your Mutt event at Sugarhouse Park.
This is a doggie walk event to raise money for "No More Homeless Pets".

I swear that it was the best time Dolly and Buddy have ever had.
There were so many dogs...I swear the whole park smelled like doggie poop. Anyway...it was for a good cause and my puppies had a blast.
